When winter falls many of us do the typical thing and retreat inside. While it’s warm and comforting, after awhile it can make you and your family feel lethargic and unproductive. Instead of using the cold weather as a reason to stay inside and do nothing, use it as an opportunity to spend more time with your family! We pick 3 winter activities for kids!
Build a Snowman (Snow-people)
With many in eastern Canada and the US getting dumped with snow, there’s certainly enough around to make a snowman. You and the kids will work together and have a lot of fun creating different characters. Let them choose fun and goofy accessories to add personality to their snowpeople.
When you finish, capture a snapshot with you, the kids, and your creations. By building a snowman you have fun in the great outdoors and create fun memories, too!
Skating is a great form of exercise and you don’t have to be good at it to have a great time. Rent some skates, and head to your local indoor skating rink, or if you’re lucky, outdoor skating rink. Many rinks offer lessons, which offer opportunities for your kids to make new friends, and for you to connect with other parents.
Though many people are not skilled at skating, games like hockey can make it good time for all.
Watch a Movie
Wait what? Unfortunately, sometimes weather conditions make it impossible for you and your family to leave the house. If you find yourself in the middle of a snowstorm or unsafe conditions, it’s best to stay where you are.
