Giving Thanks

By | Blog | No Comments

anne the animated series episode 9 idle chatter anne dianaWith all the excitement of Black Friday, it’s easy to lose sight of what’s really important this time of year, and we make forget to give thanks for our blessings.

That’s why we’re so fond of Anne Shirley. The red-headed heroine is constantly reminding us to slow down and see the beauty of everyday life. And so, this Thanksgiving weekend, we’ve chosen to reflect on why we’re oh-so-thankful for the one and only Anne with an “e”:

1) She’s a great friend. Anne has always dreamed of one day finding her bosom friend. When she moves to Avonlea and meets Diana Barry, she knows almost immediately that the two are destined to become kindred spirits. Throughout the series, Anne and Diana stick together through thick and thin, proving that true friendship lasts a lifetime.

2) She’s not afraid to be who she is. With a boisterous personality and flaming red hair, Anne doesn’t always fit in. But dryadthat doesn’t stop her from remaining unabashedly true to herself. She may slip up every now and then — like when she tries to change the colour of her famous fire-engine-red hair — but she always manages to find her way back to a place of self-acceptance.

3) She has a wild imagination. Anne’s imagination may get her into trouble sometimes, but more often than not it leads her on amazing adventures. With the help of a mystical wood nymph named Dryad, Anne travels to the depths of her imagination to explore valuable secrets and life lessons.
